Job Summary
We are seeking a Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management of the company, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for Scaffold-Fast and our sister companies. We are looking for someone with ambition who can advise the President on data-driven business decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting : Develop, monitor, and manage annual budgets, ensuring alignment with company goals and financial performance.
- Cost Control : Oversee and analyze costs related to materials, labor, and overhead to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations and invest in growth opportunities.
- Financial Analysis : Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Compliance : Ensure adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies to maintain regulatory compliance and avoid legal issues.
- Audit Coordination : Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any audit findings or recommendations.
- Accounts Management : Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Financial Forecasting : Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic planning and assess future financial performance.
- Team Leadership : Manage and mentor the finance team, including accountants and financial analysts, to ensure effective performance and professional development.
Experience
- 5-10 years of combined experience working at an accounting firm (public accounting) and industry experience in construction.
- At least 5 years of prior experience managing direct reports in an accounting department.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in French and English (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or economics.
- CPA or other financial related designation such as a CFA, CFP, or CIM.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Strong working knowledge in Federal and Provincial financial and accounting compliance and remittance requirements for Ontario and Quebec.

Monday to Friday, 7am-4 : 30pm
