Job summary

Tidan is seeking a skilled financial controller to support its Montreal hotels, including Hotel SENS and Château Versailles. Based in the Sherbrooke Street area, you will oversee accounting activities, budgeting, and payroll coordination in a dynamic hospitality setting.

• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• French-English bilingual required.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager and department heads with financial matters.
• Train and supervise accounting technicians.
• Liaise with the Payroll and HR Coordinator.
• Review accounts payable and expense reports and approve payments.
• Review negotiated contracts.
• Verify billing between the hotel and tenants.
• Validate posting of daily hotel revenues into the accounting system.
• Review and follow up on new customer accounts and accounts receivable collections.
• Prepare GST, QST, and lodging tax remittances.
• Prepare and document journal entries.
• Analyze revenue and expense accounts to explain budget variances.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations (CAD and USD) and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
• Develop the annual budget in collaboration with the General Manager and monitor performance.
• Prepare year-end financial files.
• Develop and implement internal procedures aligned with head office recommendations

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the General Manager and department heads with financial-related matters as needed

Profile:

• Strong planning and organizational skills to achieve objectives
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency with Opera software
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Team-oriented mindset
• Experience in the hospitality industry

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (required)

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Languages: Bilingualism (French–English) is required as we serve an international clientele.
