Job description

Our firm is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee company finances and ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience supervising staff and know exactly how to allocate company resources effectively. The successful candidate for this position must have strong organizational skills, the ability to work with high-level government officials, and knowledge of administrative protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Timely reporting of CRA requirements: HST, Payroll, T4s
  • Accounting oversight with related holding and management companies
  • Oversight of financial administrative staff
  • Efficient delivery of accounting-related duties to Realtors
  • Preparation of financial statements and regular reporting
  • Interacting with banking representatives and related software
  • Interacting with Accounting software provider
  • Oversight of monies being received/disbursed from various accounts
  • Evaluate financial position and provide recommendations
  • Ensuring bank accounts are reconciled in a regular timely manner
  • Oversight of brokerage Trust account
  • Monthly reconciliations of various GL accounts
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an accounting-focused role
  • Experience managing employees
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Accounting designation such as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant (CGA).
  • Very organized
  • Self-motivated/sufficient when given tasks
  • Ability to learn and recall information at a fast pace.
  • Ability to work heads down and maintain high productivity.
  • Not afraid to take on new challenges and problem-solve independently.
Working Conditions:

This position will be conducted on a daily basis within RE/MAX nova offices as agreed upon. This position will require occasional short-distance travel to other offices or event sites. RE/MAX nova shall provide hardware and software to perform duties as required.

Expectation of a 40-50 hour work-week during office hours, with standard vacation time (depending on experience & qualifications). Appearance shall be in a professional, office-like attire as outlined in the Company Policies & Procedures document.

$70,000-$85,000.00 per year
