Financial Controller

International services company based in Halifax is looking to recruit a talented qualified accountant seeking a move from practice or industry to work under and be mentored by an experienced Financial Director and offer future succession planning for the Financial Director post.

This is a key role in driving profitability and adding commercial value through financial planning and analysis. Working directly with the Finance Director the role offers a mix of both the financial, team management and commercial responsibilities including:

1. Preparation of monthly management accounts with analysis of performance versus budget.
2. Prepare statutory year-end accounts and liaise with auditors.
3. Business partner with stakeholders gaining an understanding of business trends.
4. Balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Maintain Fixed Asset Registers.
6. Work with the FD on budgeting and forecasting.
7. Support the Financial Director and Managing Director to develop and improve profitability.
8. Ensure adequate financial controls are in place.

The ideal candidate will be:

1. ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified.
2. Previous experience within audit/financial accounting within the profession or management accountant/financial accounting experience within industry.
3. Keen to develop and secure career progression.
