As Controller, you will be a key member of the leadership team, driving financial clarity, operational efficiency, and strategic insight during a time of continued expansion and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

As the Controller, you will lead the finance function with a focus on accurate reporting, process optimization, and strategic financial planning. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including monthly and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide rolling forecasts to support proactive decision-making.
  • Analyze financial trends, identify areas for cost savings, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and executive leadership to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Process & Systems Improvement:
  • Evaluate and enhance existing accounting processes, systems, and workflows for efficiency and scalability.
  • Support implementation and optimization of financial systems to ensure robust data management and reporting.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions as needed.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Education & Experience:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to multi-entity or retail/automotive environments.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., CDK, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms).
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large data sets and present meaningful insights.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to manage day-to-day operations while supporting long-term growth goals.
