Are you a team-oriented individual who enjoys a supporting role where accuracy and timeliness are crucial? In this role, you will report to the Controller and be an integral part of the Finance team. As a team player, you will contribute to fostering a positive and energetic team environment. Your responsibilities will include supporting key accounting functions for the Invest Alberta Corporation (IAC).

*Anticipated Start Date: Sept 1, 2025. This is an 8-month term.*

Primary Duties include:
  1. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
  2. Code and process travel expense claims using financial software.
  3. Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reconciliations.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Support various financial reporting analyses for management.
Education and Training:
  • Assist in developing and delivering workshops to promote fiscal stewardship within the Invest Alberta team.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.
Projects:
  • Assist with finance process improvement initiatives and software implementation projects.
Other Duties:
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Ideally, you will be a business student majoring in finance, accounting, or general business, with at least second-year standing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint, Excel, Word, etc.) is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with financial models and complex formulas are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, along with strong interpersonal and professional business writing skills, are necessary.
  • Proof of enrollment at a post-secondary institution must be provided to qualify for this work term.
