Job summary

Open Farm is seeking a Financial Analyst to support daily accounting operations, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will partner with the Finance team and cross-functional colleagues to ensure accurate records and efficient processes.

The role offers hybrid work with a focus on growth into more advanced financial reporting and CPA designation progression. Salary range is CAD 55k–60k, with potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals and financial statements.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task.
• Planning to pursue CPA designation (timeline flexible).
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger entries.
• Process vendor invoices, match to purchase orders, and code expenses.
• Monitor AR/AP balances and apply cash receipts; send statements.
• Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and year-end audit prep.
• Manage customer credit applications and monitor key partner credit.
• Support banking and payment processes; set up payment templates.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to identify trends and improve processes.
• Grow into more complex financial reporting and analysis with CPA progression.

Where You'll Come in:

The Financial Analyst plays a vital role in supporting our financial operations and day-to-day accounting processes. This position is responsible for performing core accounting tasks, managing accounts payable and receivable, supporting reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close activities. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll work collaboratively with our Finance team and cross-functional partners to maintain accurate financial records and ensure smooth operational efficiency.

How You'll Make An Impact:

• Perform daily accounting tasks including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations


• Process vendor invoices, matching them to purchase orders and coding expenses to appropriate accounts


• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable balances, apply cash receipts, and send customer statements


• Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and year-end audit preparation


• Manage customer credit applications and monitor key partner credit


• Support banking and payment processes, including payment template setup


• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and investigations as needed to help the team identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen processes


• Gain exposure to increasingly analytical and strategic accounting projects over time, positioning you to grow into more complex financial reporting and analysis responsibilities as you develop your skills and CPA designation

Compensation:

The hiring range for this role is $55,000–$60,000 CAD annually, with final compensation thoughtfully aligned to your qualifications, background, and the value you bring. At Open Farm, we know great people don't always fit a mold, so role scope and compensation may evolve to reflect your unique strengths. This position may also include additional rewards such as performance-based bonuses and other incentives.

Hybrid Work
