Cenovus Energy is seeking a Financial Analyst, Material Inventory to support accurate inventory and PP&E reporting across Upstream Onshore Operations and Capital Projects. You will reconcile balances to the Trial Balance and financial systems, validate inventory reporting, and resolve discrepancies in SAP and related ledgers.

Reporting to the Manager, Oil Sands Capital Accounting, the Financial Analyst, Material Inventory supports accurate inventory and Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E) reporting through strong accounting, governance, reconciliation, and controls.
Working with Operations, Supply Chain, Capital Projects, and Finance teams, this role helps ensure inventory and capital asset information is complete, reliable, and effectively managed across the business.
Support governance, financial oversight, and reporting of working capital inventory and PP&E materials inventory across Upstream Onshore Operations and Capital Projects.
Reconcile inventory and PP&E balances to the Trial Balance and financial reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Validate inventory reporting and resolve discrepancies across SAP, SCM, FRP, and supporting financial ledgers.
Develop and maintain inventory accounting processes, including reconciliations, physical counts, write-offs, accruals, and variance analysis.
Partner with Supply Chain Management, Project Controls, and Finance teams to ensure inventory is accurately tracked, valued, and reported.
Establish and monitor SOX-compliant controls governing inventory, procurement, accrual, and material transfer processes.
Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of inventory-related costs, including transportation, refurbishment, project stock, warehouse inventory, and material transfers.
Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and enhanced governance of inventory controls, reporting, and capital accrual processes for accountable Oil Sands properties.
