Alberta Motor Association is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Finance team and turn data into insights that drive business decisions. The role reports to the Manager, Finance and collaborates with internal stakeholders to improve financial processes and forecasting models.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA or other designation is an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a finance role.
• Strong accounting and financial analysis knowledge.
• Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support decision-making for business units.
• Improve and maintain forecasting models to enhance financial planning and accuracy.
• Review and provide guidance on technical work completed by accountants.
• Prepare reports, analysis, and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Complete month end close requirements and ensure financial statements are published timely.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing processes, controls, and financial practices.
• Prepare financial reporting and update disclosures for year end reporting to stakeholders.
