  • Process enrollments, terminations and other changes related to benefits plans.
  • Respond to and resolve pay and benefit-related inquiries.
  • Provide support during the annual audit.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, long-term financial plans, and analysis of changes to the College's financial position.
  • Keep up-to-date with applicable legislation, trends and practices.

Job description

  • Administer and coordinate scheduled payroll runs with the third-party payroll provider, including payroll entries, employee changes, and payroll reconciliations
  • Support payroll year-end activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and preparation of required year-end documentation
  • Perform bookkeeping activities for the College
  • Process enrollments, terminations and other changes related to benefits plans
  • Respond to and resolve pay and benefit-related inquiries and problems
  • Provide support during the annual audit
  • Support processing of member payments and transactions
  • Investigate issues with member payments and provide updates to the Registration Department
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc financial reports, business cases, and project budgets
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, long-term financial plans, and analysis of changes to the College's financial position
  • Keep up-to-date with applicable legislation, trends and practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Four-year university program in Finance or Accounting
  • Enrolled in the Canadian Payroll Association program
  • 2 to 3 years' experience including technical experience with accounting, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting/analysis, and audit
  • Current knowledge of Canadian financial reporting
  • Knowledge of accounting and payroll software, and office/administrative software (Microsoft Office)
  • Judgment, analytical, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in an environment with changing priorities
