Job summary

Germain Hotels group is seeking a Financial Analyst to oversee cash management, budgeting, and financial reporting for multiple entities across Canada. You will collaborate with several teams, ensure internal controls, and support tax provisions and audits.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adaptability, and strong communication in both French and English with colleagues nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• CPA designation or currently pursuing it (an asset).
• Experience in hotel/restaurant industry (an asset).
• Strong written and verbal communication in French and English across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Prepare forecast, monthly and annual financial statements for various entities; manage property cash flow and audit files.
• Prepare operating budgets and analyses; perform reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Assist in income tax provisions and annual filings.

We are looking for a Financial Analyst ready to take on financial responsibility for various Germain Hotels entities. Working closely with several of our teams, this detail-oriented and versatile person will oversee cash management and budgets, while preparing key financial information essential to the organization's operations and continued growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare forecast, monthly and annual financial statements for various entities, manage property cash flow, and prepare annual audit files;
• Prepare and communicate operating budgets, as well as various analyses and reconciliations;
• Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and processes, as well as internal controls;
• Participate in calculating income tax provisions and preparing tax information for annual filings;
• Collaborate on various special projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or another related field;
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience;
• CPA designation or currently working toward it (an asset);
• Experience in an accounting firm or in taxation (an asset);
• Knowledge of the hotel and restaurant industry (an asset);
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, due to the nature of the role and interactions with English-speaking colleagues, partners, or clients across Canada.
