This position reports to the Vice President, Finance and will be responsible for assigned day-to-day accounting operations of the finance department.
Note: this is a contract role (6 months)
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Post daily cash receipts accurately and efficiently
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation
- Record journal entries for cash transactions, prepayments, accruals, and other financial activities as needed
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, and other accounts
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax reconciliations and returns
- Support interim and annual audit processes by providing requested documentation and analysis
- Prepare month-end financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis, projects, and reporting requests from leadership
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills and a high degree of accuracy with numbers
- Experience with monthly closes, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and power pivots
- Working knowledge of IT/Accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing deadlines and business needs, with a positive and proactive attitude
