A leading company in the technology sector is seeking a Finance Associate for a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will manage daily accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations and financial reporting. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with relevant experience.

Job description

This position reports to the Vice President, Finance and will be responsible for assigned day-to-day accounting operations of the finance department.

Note: this is a contract role (6 months)

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Post daily cash receipts accurately and efficiently
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation
• Record journal entries for cash transactions, prepayments, accruals, and other financial activities as needed
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, accruals, and other accounts
• Prepare and file monthly sales tax reconciliations and returns
• Support interim and annual audit processes by providing requested documentation and analysis
• Prepare month-end financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
• Assist with ad-hoc analysis, projects, and reporting requests from leadership

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis or accounting

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong analytical skills and a high degree of accuracy with numbers
• Experience with monthly closes, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and power pivots
• Working knowledge of IT/Accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible and adaptable to changing deadlines and business needs, with a positive and proactive attitude
