Summary

This is a professional role responsible for providing payroll accounting and funding analytical expertise and consultation to Strada clients. The role involves interaction with auditors, responding to technical inquiries, and ensuring controls to prevent audit exceptions. The incumbent will lead initiatives to resolve escalations considering financial and legal impacts.

Delivery & Responsibilities

  1. Support managers with client engagement, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information.
  2. Support and guide implementations and go-lives.
  3. Provide daily functional support to teams for General Ledger documentation and files.
  4. Perform financial audits, analyze data, reconcile payroll results, and review payroll postings and GL interface transmittals.
  5. Investigate variances, perform root cause analysis, and recommend client intervention procedures.
  6. Analyze compliance issues, determine financial impacts and risks, and facilitate resolutions, including system configuration changes.
  7. Make recommendations to clients regarding escalated issues and resolve inquiries based on compliance impacts.
  8. Ensure audit controls are in place and maintained, update process documentation.
  9. Resolve technical/functional issues, report system defects, and log tickets with details.
  10. Participate in team meetings, escalate issues promptly, and serve as audit response expert.
  11. Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts and perform bank account reconciliations.
  12. Communicate with payroll teams, clients, and vendors to resolve issues.
  13. Support automation, innovation, and continuous improvement programs.
  14. Assist with Year-End processes.
  15. Handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately.
  16. Identify upsell opportunities and support client escalations.
  17. Train and develop team members.
  18. Accurately record time and perform other duties as assigned.
  19. Build relationships across business lines and participate in projects.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Payroll accounting experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Workday.
  • Ability to multitask, manage workload, and meet SLAs.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Risk mitigation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, team player, and independent worker.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years client-facing experience in HR or related environment.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems like Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft is a plus.
