Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is assisting a fitness club operator in Toronto to hire a Financial Analyst. You will prepare and analyze financial statements, support budgeting, forecasting, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years FP&A experience in retail or hospitality, strong Power BI and SQL/VBA skills, and advanced Excel abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' Financial Planning & Analysis experience in a retail, hospitality or related field is preferred.
• PowerBI and SQL/VBA knowledge required.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and a knack for data insights.
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills are required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and objectives with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and work flexible hours, as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner with department leaders to develop annual budgets aligned with organizational priorities and financial goals.
• Build and maintain financial forecasting models to project future performance and support strategic planning.
• Conduct detailed variance analyses to compare actual results with budgeted expectations, identifying risks, opportunities, and root cause drivers.
• Generate clear, insightful financial reports for senior leadership, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance financial operations, reporting efficiency, and overall organizational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support for business initiatives and decision-making.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $85,000 / year

This position for employment is for a current vacancy with Vaco/Highspring’s client.

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
