Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education in Burnaby, BC, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our multi-site food service team. This role focuses on communicating financial results and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes.

You will partner with operations leaders and senior management to validate drivers, analyze performance, and maximize profitability. A CPA or progress toward designation is preferred, with hours aligned to Pacific Time.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of financial analysis experience in food service or retail (multi-site) preferred.
• Accounting designation (CPA) or working toward one is preferred, ideally in a complex multi-site environment.
• Must be able to work standard Pacific Time business hours.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.

Responsibilities

• Clearly communicate financial results to the management team on a regular basis.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and identify risks and opportunities impacting financial performance.
• Work with operational leaders to understand business drivers, validate assumptions, and incorporate insights into forecasts/budgets.
• Provide financial analysis to ensure accurate financial statements and maximize profit potential.
• Coordinate the collection and compilation of weekly forecasting and analysis to ensure accuracy.
• Oversee the completion of required departmental reports and the compilation of month end reports.
• Initiate and maintain the annual budget process and forecasts.
• Lead the financial modelling for rebids or price negotiations.
• Answer queries and support Operations Management and Senior leadership.
• Complete all projects on schedule and in a professional manner.

Description

Thesalaryrange for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. • Accounting designation (i.e. CPA) or working towards one is preferred, ideally in a complex fast paced multi-site environment and similar industry/background
• Must be able to work standard Pacific Time business hours
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience partnering with non-financial stakeholders is preferred
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Good command of Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset
