Job description

Overview

As a Financial Advisor, you will seek to understand what is important to each member and partner with them on their individual financial journey. Servicing an assigned portfolio, the Advisor is responsible for deepening member relationships and uncovering members’ short- and long-term goals; tailored solutions may include loans, investments, or day-to-day products and services. The Advisor contributes to the team to achieve SASCU’s sales and advice objectives and consistently delivers the SASCU Member Experience.

What you’ll do
  • Advise members on a full range of deposit and investment products and services (including new personal and business accounts, cards, term deposits, and registered products).
  • Advise members on personal and small business lending products and services (including mortgages, personal loans, lines of credit, credit cards, and associated insurance products).
  • Interview loan applicants, analyze financial information, assesses credit relating to loan requests, and make recommendations to the Credit department.
  • Deepen member relationships through regular review, identification of opportunities, and personalized contact within an assigned portfolio. Manage a pipeline of opportunities with dedicated contact strategy.
  • Service and manage estate accounts within an assigned portfolio.
What you’ll bring
  • 2 – 3 years of financial services experience.
  • Completion of CUIC 185, 210, and 240 (university level courses) within 18 months of attaining position.
  • Demonstrated sales skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development.

This is a full-time, position requiring flexibility within the Tuesday-to-Saturday operations of the branch. This position will be located at the Sorrento branch, may be reassigned to another SASCU branch within the year based on business needs.
