An established and growing organization in the luxury resort and real estate development space is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its dynamic Finance team. This full-time, Calgary-based role will support a multi-entity operation focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences and high-end real estate projects. The successful candidate will bring strong project accounting knowledge, analytical acumen, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Position Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly reporting, conducting reconciliations, and providing analytical insights to aid decision-making.Key Responsibilities- Assist in full cycle accounting procedures including bank recs, AP, AR.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts across multiple entities
- Execute monthly close processes to support timely internal and external reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements for various business units
- Provide insightful financial analysis and key performance indicators to operational leaders
- Support project-specific reporting related to ongoing real estate developments
- Perform account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring data integrity
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate ledger and sub-ledger information
- Collaborate with internal teams to assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Identify and implement enhancements to streamline financial reporting and operational workflows
- Assist in the rollout and optimization of financial systems and tools
- Work cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and development teams to gather and interpret financial data
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelors Accounting and 2+ years related real estate or development industry experience. Pursuing CPA is a plus, but not required
- Strong project accounting experience, ideally within real estate or construction
- Proficient in Sage Intacct and Sage Construction (or similar financial systems)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively
