The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading organization in the professional services space, is seeking a Financial Accountant to support financial reporting and compliance across multiple Canadian entities. This is a high-impact opportunity for a CPA-designated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment to make a real impact. The role is ideal for someone who brings strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of SOX/internal controls, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvement.
As a key member of the finance team, the Financial Accountant will contribute to the monthly close process, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and provide insightful analysis on financial results. The successful candidate will also play a key role in identifying process gaps, supporting system optimization, and participating in compliance activities.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting documentation
- Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform P&L and variance analysis with meaningful commentary for leadership
- Ensure SOX compliance and support internal controls
- Collaborate across departments to support financial operations and reporting
- Assist in statutory reporting and audit preparation
What You Bring- CPA designation (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of experience in financial analysis and full-cycle accounting
- Experience in a large, public, multinational company
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS
- Familiarity with SOX/internal controls and compliance
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Proactive, analytical mindset with a drive for process improvement
