Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Toronto, Canada is seeking an Assistant Manager, Finance & Reporting to oversee all financial operations, ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP and IFRS, and provide strategic financial guidance to the Finance Controller.

The role requires CPA designation, 8+ years in finance and accounting (2+ years in a finance manager capacity), strong knowledge of tax laws including Quebec, and proficiency with D365, Power BI, and internal controls (SOX). Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent.
• Experience in finance and accounting with 8+ years including 2+ years in a finance manager role.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE), US GAAP and IFRS.
• Knowledge of Canadian tax laws (including Quebec).
• Experience with internal controls and SOX.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements under Canadian GAAP and IFRS.
• Manage revenue recognition and project accounting compliance.
• Oversee cash flow and resource utilization.
• Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets (SOX).
• Collaborate with Payroll, Travel and Expenses vendors.
• Coordinate with banks on report automation.
• Support external auditors and annual audit process.
• Assist Finance Controller with process improvements and governance.
• Support growth through policy implementation and financial systems.
