Descripción del empleo

Our client, a growing not-for profit organization located in Ottawa’s east end, is seeking a Finance Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Finance Manager will provide dedicated financial management and oversight for a major federally funded national program, ensuring program expenditures, employer incentive payments, partner funding and administrative costs are managed, documented and reported in line with internal policies and the requirements of the federal contribution agreement.

  • Prepare and support financial claims and reporting required under a federal contribution agreement, ensuring expenditures are correctly coded and allocated to eligible cost categories
  • Oversee the processing, reconciliation and tracking of high-volume employer incentive payments and partner funding streams, ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation
  • Undertake and oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank and account reconciliations, disbursements, month-end journal entries and closing
  • Develop, document and maintain financial procedures and controls, including segregation of duties, approval processes and clear audit trails
  • Support financial audits, funder reviews and monitoring activities, preparing supporting schedules and documentation
  • Supervise, coach and set priorities for a team of Finance Coordinators, reviewing their work for accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with program leadership, coordinators and delivery partners to resolve discrepancies and ensure decisions are informed by timely financial information
  • Progressively take on broader finance responsibilities, such as annual budgeting, Board reporting, year-end audit preparation, cash-flow management, payroll and benefits administration, and long-term financial planning
