Located in Cambridge, Ontario, the position leads a team of 3–6 Financial Analysts, delivers insightful management reports, and partners with senior leadership to drive business decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in Finance & Accounting; experience in public accounting preferred.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience.
• CPA required.
• Strong analysis and reporting skills with focus on modelling.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial modeling in Excel is a plus.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver accurate reports to stakeholders and translate numbers into insights.
• Analyze business reports to support management decision-making.
• Lead and mentor a team of Financial Analysts (3-6 analysts).
• Monitor cash flow and prepare/analyze cash flow statements and reports.
• Develop and enhance KPI dashboards.
• Collaborate with managers, with senior management, and with other departments.
• Evaluate systems, software, and workflows and implement process improvements.
• Report directly to the CFO and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

Our client, a very reputable real estate/development company, is actively seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, ideally coming from public accounting. The successful candidate will be a CPA with experience with financial modeling and reporting, cashflow forecasting, and people leadership.

This role offers a unique opportunity to transition directly out of public accounting into a role with a unique blend of analytics and team leadership. While the role is primarily focused on analysis, complex cashflow forecasting, and financial modelling, it also includes elements of traditional accounting activities and leads a team of 3-6 Financial Analysts. Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver accurate reports to various stakeholders, and translate the numbers into actionable business insights.
• Analyze business reports to support management decision-making
• Manage a team of Financial Analysts, allocate and oversee their tasks and provide exceptional mentorship and leadership.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare/analyze cash flow statements and reports.
• Develop and enhance KPI dashboards.
• Collaborate with other managers, with senior management, and with various other departments.
• Evaluate systems, software, and workflow, and implement process improvements.
• Report directly to the CFO and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting; experience working in public accounting preferred
• 2+ years of people leadership experience required
• CPA required
• Very strong analysis and reporting skills and an interest in a role focused on analysis and modelling.
• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with financial modeling in an Excel would be an asset.
• High level of organization and detail orientation
