Manitoba Chiefs is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial operations and strategic planning. The role collaborates with the Executive Director and Senior Management to guide budgeting, reporting, and treasury functions.

The incumbent will oversee accounting, payroll, audits, and financial policy development, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and governance expectations. A CPA and extensive leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related discipline; MBA or major in Accounting/Finance is an asset.
• 8 years of senior leadership experience in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years in a financial leadership role.
• Experience working with First Nations, including working with First Nations Chiefs.
• Proficiency in SAGE 300 and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Act as financial lead for the organization, managing risk, insurance, treasury, and strategic planning.
• Strategic management of accounting, payroll, and finance functions.
• Lead annual budgeting and regular reporting to senior management and governance bodies.
• Oversee annual auditing process and financial reporting for multiple programs.
• Develop annual consolidated and program budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Ensure financial reporting requirements align with funding arrangements and entities.
• Recruit, train, and retain skilled accounting, payroll, and finance staff.
