Job summary

The Yukon Liquor Corporation, part of Yukon Government, seeks a Controller to oversee accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting and procurement compliance from its Whitehorse office.

The role acts as the liaison for the Auditor General during the annual financial statement audit and supports governance across the Corporation and Yukon Lottery Commission. This is a full-time, permanent position with 75 hours bi-weekly and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or related discipline.
• Experience leading annual external audits with auditors and resolving issues.
• Experience improving financial controls, policies, or processes for governance and reporting accuracy.
• Experience budgeting with senior management to monitor operating and capital plans.
• Experience supervising staff is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement compliance, and admin activities.
• Serve as primary liaison with the Office of the Auditor General for the annual financial statement audit.
• Coordinate audit processes for the Yukon Lottery Commission and ensure sound financial management.
