Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) is accepting applications for a full-time Finance Clerk for the Finance
Department. This position is a one-year term position. The location of the position is Prince Albert central
office.

Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation serves the communities of Pelican Narrows, Sandy Bay, Southend, Deschambault
Lake, Amisk Lal

The Finance Clerk is responsible for the duties and responsibilities of the Accounts Payable department in
providing services to the members of PBCN. The position is under the direction of the Finance Manager

Position
Under direct supervision, the Finance Clerk reviews and processes payment; purchase orders, invoices,
statements, and/or other payment requests, as appropriate, for the Finance department of Peter Ballantyne Cree
Nation. Finance perfo1med, including maintaining the filing system on client records and payment records. As
well as delivering payments to the suppliers of services locally. Secretarial and Receptionist duties will be
perfo1med as well.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Maximum: certificate in accounting, administration or commerce complemented by a combination of training and/or experience in accountancy or bookkeeping.
  • Minimum: grade 12, complimented by a combination of training and/or experience in accountancy or bookkeeping.
  • Use and knowledge of Sage accounting software.
  • Use and knowledge of Microsoft computer software application; Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook Express ( e-mail).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), computer skills and experience in maintaining office records.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to speak or understand the Woodland Cree language and have knowledge of the culture,] political, and social objective of PBCN.
