Job summary

EQ Bank is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern to support payroll accounting, payroll journal entries, intercompany transactions and month-end processes for PC Bank and PC Insurance.

You will prepare journal entries, perform payroll reconciliations, and coordinate with Payroll, Treasury and other finance teams. The role starts Fall 2026 for 4, 8 or 12 months with hybrid work from EQ Bank's Toronto office.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation or in progress is preferred.
• 1–2 years of related accounting/finance experience, preferably payroll accounting.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel.
• Experience with SAP is an asset.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hybrid work and adaptability to a finance team.

Responsibilities

• Timely preparation of bi-weekly payroll journal entries for PC Insurance and PC Bank.
• Timely preparation of bi-weekly expense reporting journal entries.
• Payroll reconciliations and analysis of monthly payroll costs.
• Process payroll vendor payments with relevant teams.
• Support PC Insurance month-end including journal entries and variance analysis.
• Book intercompany entries for PC Bank and PC Insurance; reconcile balances.
• Support automation initiatives and process improvements.
• Ad hoc reporting as required.
