Job summary

CKUA in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Director of Finance to lead all finance functions with heart and strategy. You will supervise a small team, manage budgets, forecasts, payroll, and reporting, and ensure strong internal controls within a nonprofit public broadcaster.

This hands-on role involves configuring financial systems such as QuickBooks Online and ADP Workforce, partnering with the Leadership Team, and guiding regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8–10 years progressive financial experience with 4+ years leading a team.
• Experience in nonprofit/public-sector or mission-driven environments.
• Strong skills in audits, forecasts, and month-end reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead all finance functions including budgets, forecasts, payroll, reporting and internal controls.
• Present financials to the Board and support funders and governance bodies.
• Manage risk, contracts review, and system configurations.
• Mentor a small finance team and drive cross-department collaboration.
