Job summary

VINCI is seeking a Field Technician to join our technical support team in Burnaby. The Junior Field Technician will be the foundation of site operations, assisting senior technicians, prepping equipment, following safety protocols, and performing installation and monitoring tasks with precision.

The role emphasizes hands-on, mechanically inclined work in a fast-paced construction environment, with responsibilities spanning field operations, equipment handling, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) safely.
• Able to work outdoors in BC weather conditions.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Safety training: Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry preferred.
• Willingness to travel to site locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Support installation of civil and geotechnical instrumentation.
• Use hand and power tools; fit mechanical fixings and concrete anchors.
• Collect basic data with handheld readouts.
• Assist surveyor and level AMTS equipment in geomatics tasks.
• Perform basic electrical work and proper cable terminations.
• Photographically document pre- and post-work conditions.
