Job summary

Leavitt Machinery in Kamloops, BC is seeking a Field Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our Service team. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance across a variety of machines, coordinating with customers and the parts team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy equipment or automotive repair, a valid Red Seal or Journeyperson ticket, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience.
• Journeyperson's ticket or Red Seal certification is required.
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing electrical engines is a strong asset.
• Aerial platform and lift truck experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on equipment.
• Communicate with Service Dispatcher and customers; complete work orders and warranty paperwork.
• Coordinate with Parts to order and prepare required parts before visits.
• Maintain documentation and report safety incidents promptly.
