Qualifications

The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Field Technician Apprentice (Heavy Equipment) to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

This is a unionized position under the Alberta Collective Agreement.

As a Field Technician Apprentice your key responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose and complete all repairs in a timely manner, while providing a variety of repair options that best meet the customer’s needs
  • Complete service jobs as assigned by the Dispatcher and/or Chargehand, and maintain thorough communication throughout the diagnosis and repair cycle
  • Partner with the parts department to identify and order parts required, while adhering to the Parts and Service Agreement

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of Pre-Employment Heavy Equipment Technician program is considered a very strong asset
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external customers and internal stakeholders

The base pay for this role is $34.81 hourly.

This is an onsite role based in Fort McMurray, AB.
