Position Summary:
Are you an Electrical Technician or have experience in the downstream maintenance, electrical, calibration, carwash, and construction industry? Do you have knowledge of tank rental and mobile cardlock solutions? Well then BarW is the place for you!
Reporting to the Manager, Construction, you will be responsible for completing general electrical duties on projects and/or service sites. This role may supervise assigned Electrical Apprentice Technicians as required. Duties also include electronic and mechanical repairs, in-house and on-site, and commissioning equipment as assigned.
Our technicians specialize in Retail/Commercial Gas Stations, Cardlock/Bulk Petroleum sites, Carwashes, and Commercial/Industrial Electrical Services for Maintenance and Construction in Western Canada, Yukon & NWT.
We are looking for Electrical Technicians in Red Deer, Calgary, and Edmonton.

What will you be doing?
- Perform higher level technological challenges relative to electrical, electronic, and mechanical repairs and commission equipment as assigned by complying with all UFA/BarW, insurance company and government regulations.
- Perform electrical repairs and installations as assigned in compliance with current Electrical Industry Codes and Regulations.
- Support cross-training and coaching of Electrical Apprentice Technicians on day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate customer relations by managing allocated calls efficiently to improve service and decrease costs, including planning for adequate tools and equipment necessary for efficient work.
- Accountable for completing all required documentation correctly and in a timely manner.
- Assist in development and contributing ideas for operational and technical improvements to existing equipment and technology.
- Ensure safe practices are followed in accordance with Health and Safety policies and practices.
- Responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with UFA/BarW and client's Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Safe Work Practices and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- High school diploma. Registered with Alberta AIT as an Indentured Electrical Apprentice. Must accomplish fourth year apprentice program and successfully pass the exam. Journeyman or Master Electrician. Required to participate and be certified in CPCA PM-Training.
- 4 - 6 years previous experience in electrical, mechanical or petroleum troubleshooting. Developed extensive knowledge and experience in electrical, mechanical and petroleum troubleshooting to perform higher level technological challenges relative to electrical, electronic, and mechanical repairs.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good organization and time management skills. Capable of managing multiple service/project work requests.
- Excellent customer/people skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Can-do attitude.
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude, an analytical approach to problem solving, physical strength, manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination and ability to work at heights.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications. Knowledgeable about computerized machinery and efficient with hand tools.
- Obtain industry-specific OEM training and certifications.
- Valid Class 5 license. Required to work away from home overnight when required. Required to be available for 24-hour, 7-day service calls when scheduled.
- Be able to pursue continuing education opportunities to enhance performance.
- Willing to maintain a strong technical knowledge of assigned equipment through on-the-job training and training programs.
What is the work schedule?

- When scheduled - available to be on-call 24-hours and 7-days a week for service calls.
