Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Canada is seeking a Surveyor for field-based operations at the Darlington Nuclear Facility. You will lead survey field activities, maintain meticulous field records, and ensure safety and quality in every task.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior team members and coordinating with trades on large-scale projects. Responsibilities include planning survey plans, verifying data integrity, producing survey reports, and managing control networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or Diploma in Civil Engineering Tech or equivalent is an asset.
• GPS, leveling, and robotic total station experience is required, preferably with Trimble/Leica equipment.
• Strong computer knowledge to use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD software.
• Understanding common Canadian coordinate systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement Safety in every aspect of their working duties.
• Oversee the operation with periodic reviews of record-keeping, field procedures, and survey audits.
• Maintain accurate and legible field notes; sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations at project sites.
• Prepare site surveying documents/reports and present findings.
• Setting and maintenance of control network.
• Performing layout and drawing clarifications.
• Supervising, teaching, and leading more junior team members.
