Job summary

BCES Global, a North American electrical contracting platform, seeks a Field Service Technician (NETA) to test, maintain, troubleshoot, and commission electrical power systems in industrial, commercial, utility, and institutional environments. You will work with regional teams to support grid reliability and emergency response across North America.

You should hold EET/EIT or P.Eng, have hands-on experience with power testing and maintenance, and possess NETA/NICET Level II–IV certification or

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, maintenance testing, and system commissioning per NETA standards.
• Test, diagnose, and document low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment (breakers, transformers, relays, switchgear).
• Conduct electrical studies, analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
• Support system upgrades, retrofits, and power system troubleshooting (planned and emergency).
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and QA compliance in all tasks.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver reliable solutions.

WHAT WE NEED

We are seeking a skilled and safety‑driven Field Service Technician (NETA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical power systems across industrial, commercial, utility, and institutional environments. You’ll work with regional teams who combine deep local knowledge with enterprise‑wide resources to support critical projects involving grid reliability, system upgrades, predictive maintenance, and emergency response.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform acceptance testing, maintenance testing, and system commissioning in accordance with NETA standards.
• Test and diagnose low‑, medium‑, and high‑voltage electrical equipment, including breakers, transformers, relays, switchgear, and protective systems.
• Conduct electrical studies, analyze test data, and prepare accurate technical reports.
• Support system upgrades, retrofits, and power system troubleshooting in both planned and emergency scenarios.
• Ensure all work meets safety, regulatory, and quality‑assurance requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver reliable, client‑focused solutions.

WHAT YOU BRING

• EET, EIT or P.Eng with direct experience preferably in an industrial electrical environment.
• Hands‑on experience with power system testing, commissioning, or maintenance.
• Current or previous NETA/NICET Level II, III, or IV certification (or equivalent experience with intent to certify) is considered a strong asset.
• Strong understanding of NETA standards, electrical theory, and power distribution equipment.
• Ability to analyze test data and produce detailed technical documentation.
• A commitment to safety, accuracy, and high‑quality workmanship.
• Willingness to travel to job sites within your region and throughout North America.

Compensation ranges may vary based on individual experience. Final offers may differ from the posted range depending on a candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and the specific role offered. This role includes overtime and double time eligibility in addition to the base rate.

Compensation Range: $50 — $65 CAD
