Job summary

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Mississauga location. The role involves independently diagnosing, servicing, and repairing customer equipment in a field setting or customer shop, delivering quality service and timely issue resolution.

Ideal candidates will have a trade qualification and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, plus strong diagnostics and calibration aptitude.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in heavy equipment, agriculture, or trucking.
• 3 years’ relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration.

Responsibilities

• Operate within budgets and approvals set by Service Manager.
• Maintain high productivity, efficiency, and gross margin.
• Achieve 98% work quality to minimize rework.
• Perform diagnostics on power equipment to identify repair needs.
• Disassemble, assemble, and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Perform preventative maintenance (fluid changes, battery tests, etc.).
• Execute advanced mechanical repairs including engine/transmission work.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and safety standards.
• Keep work area clean and safe; follow OH&S rules.
• Mentor apprentices and participate in training.
