Job summary

Linde plc is seeking a Field Service Technician in Canada to install and maintain bulk gas supply systems and service on-site plants. The role involves reading mechanical and electrical drawings, handling cryogenic equipment, welding, brazing, and coordinating contractors to ensure timely, safe project completion.

You will work largely in outdoor environments, with after-hours availability and a focus on safety and accuracy. Experience with atmospheric/cryogenic gases is a plus.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in related discipline (C.E.T.) or Journeyman status in Electrical, Instrumentation, Refrigeration, Welding, or another related trade.
• 3–5 years of experience with atmospheric/cryogenic gases and related equipment.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read verbal and written technical instructions and prepare reports.
• Willingness for after-hours service calls and overtime.
• Ability to work independently in a field region.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain bulk gas supply systems.

• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings for planning work.
• Apply knowledge of cryogenic equipment during installation and servicing.

Reporting to the Central Region Customer Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of bulk gas supply systems. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to work on small on-site plants, food freezing equipment and piping installation and sales.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will report to the Central Region Customer Service Manager and be responsible for the installation and maintenance of bulk gas supply systems
• Work on small on-site plants, food freezing equipment, and piping installation, including supporting related sales activities
• Utilize your knowledge of pipe and gas fitting to install, modify, and maintain gas systems safely and efficiently
• In addition, you will read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to plan and execute work accurately
• Apply basic knowledge of cryogenic equipment in the installation and servicing of systems
• Perform welding and brazing tasks as required to support system installation and repair is part of your role
• Troubleshoot electronic and computer-operated controls and instrumentation to diagnose and resolve issues
• You will manage contractors on-site and coordinate project objectives to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to Linde’s standards

• You have a post-secondary education in a related discipline (C.E.T.) or Journeyman status in Electrical, Instrumentation, Refrigeration, Welding, or another related trade
• Three to five (3-5) years of experience working with atmospheric / cryogenic gases and related equipment is considered an asset
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required in this role
• You have the ability to follow verbal and written technical instructions and prepare clear technical reports
• Availability for after-hours service calls and overtime as required
• Ability to work independently and service a territory with minimal or no direct supervision
• Physically able to perform work in a predominantly outdoor environment and lift up to 60 pounds
• Also, you have demonstrated effective interpersonal and job-related communication skills, strong safety awareness, and a professional image aligned with the position’s dress code
