Job summary

Total Power Limited in Mississauga is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to perform emergency service, preventive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting on customer generators. You will program, test, and connect transfer switches, diagnose engine-driven gensets, and communicate effectively with customers and the supervisor.

Qualified candidates have a minimum of 3 years’ experience, a Power Generation Diploma or equivalent, a valid Ontario license, and strong electrical/mechanical

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a generator field service technician.
  • Valid ON driver's license in good standing.
  • Working knowledge of D/C and A/C electrical systems.
  • Mechanical, engine, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Superior customer service skills and track record.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable using MS Office suite including Outlook.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Maintain all company tools and materials, including inventory of parts.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor on all aspects of service.
  • Complete required service and equipment performance reports.

What You’ll Do – The Role

What You Need

  • College-level Power Generation Diploma, Certified Mechanic with electrical skills or Licensed Electrician with mechanical skills preferred.
  • A valid ON driver's license in good standing.
  • Working knowledge of D/C and A/C electrical systems.
  • Mechanical, engine, and electrical trouble shooting skills.

Working Conditions
  • After hours On-Call – Required
  • Heavy lifting and physical exertion is required
  • Ability to work irregular hours / overtime
  • Full time position plus approved OT
  • Willing to work locally and throughout the Province of Ontario
  • Occasional travel will be required. A valid passport and ability to enter the US for factory training may be required on occasion.
  • In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government, be available for work.
