Description

Field Service Manager

Our client is searching for a Field Service Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for leading the Field Service division and providing world-class service to customers. A successful candidate will offer technical support to achieve high customer satisfaction. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Select, prepare, and train Field Service Representatives to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate, execute, and complete all Field Service jobs
  • Achieve all Field Service financial goals and targets
  • Schedule Field Service activities based on customer requirements using the CRM System
  • Support and guide Field Service staff to ensure timely and quality customer service
  • Address inquiries, resolve issues, and proactively gather customer feedback
  • Promote a positive work environment fostering a growth mindset to enhance employee engagement and teamwork
  • Encourage a culture of accountability aligned with company values and inclusivity
  • Manage performance of direct reports through training, performance appraisals, and goal setting
  • Participate in succession planning and team development activities
  • Perform performance management and disciplinary actions as needed, in collaboration with HR and the Director of Operations
  • Approve time off requests and oversee attendance records
  • Contribute to developing performance metrics supporting the company's strategic goals
  • Train and mentor team members for growth and retention
  • Provide technical support to customers when possible to optimize product performance and satisfaction
  • Handle emergency technical support via phone or onsite, including root cause analysis and solutions
  • Act as the main technical liaison between Canada and other company entities
  • Follow up on major service orders to meet customer commitments
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up and service report review
  • Maintain accurate CRM records with customer contacts and technical reports
  • Coordinate and track training for Field Service Representatives
  • Define and work towards Field Service targets with the Service Manager and Sales Managers
  • Support sales efforts by providing technical insights and resources
  • Review prospects, quotes, and orders in weekly meetings
  • Support new opportunities identified by the Service Sales Team
  • Prepare for weekly meetings with updates on actions, pipeline, and issues
  • Respond to 24-hour emergency service lines as required
  • Identify performance gaps and escalate issues accordingly
  • Review progress with the Director of Operations quarterly

Your strengths include:

  • Certification as a Millwright, Mechanical Engineering Degree, or related experience
  • 10+ years of experience coordinating field repair services or maintaining large reciprocating compressors in industries like Refinery, Petrochemical, or Gas
  • Experience with reciprocating compressors and related mechanical or chemical engineering knowledge
  • Proven skills in mechanical field service coordination and contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of ROI calculations and justifications
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Existing network of industry contacts such as Rotating Equipment Specialists, Millwrights, and Apprentices
