Job summary

Spotter Security is seeking an Experienced Security Service Technician for field-based work across the Greater Toronto Area. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair IP video, access control, and alarm systems while documenting work and providing excellent customer service.

The role requires 3–5+ years in related security tech, strong networking/IT knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints. A valid Ontario driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years installing/servicing cabling, cameras, alarms, access control or related tech.
• Experience with at least some of the listed manufacturers (e.g., Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, Axis).
• Strong IP networking/IT knowledge and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings and interpret specs.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electronic security equipment (IP video, access control, alarms).
• Inspect/test equipment to diagnose faults and resolve issues.
• Perform hands-on work indoors/outdoors in diverse environments.
• Complete scheduled maintenance visits with thorough documentation.
• Resolve service tickets independently and escalate when needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings.
• Use specialized tools/diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Interact professionally with customers and ensure satisfaction.
• Submit accurate work orders and post-service reports with images/descriptions.
• Communicate with Service/Technology Manager and team.
