Job summary

Green Infrastructure Partners Inc. (GIP) is seeking a Quality Control Technician based in Caledon, Ontario. You will perform field testing, sampling, and inspection of construction materials across GTA and Ontario to ensure quality standards on project sites.

The role requires the ability to travel to remote Ontario projects, operate hand and power tools, and work on flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Civil / Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent is an asset but not required.
• Prior construction project or material testing experience is an asset but not required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and must be able to effectively communicate with managers, engineers, supervisors and other team members.
• Able to use and maintain hand and power tools.
• Must have a valid G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Able to perform heavy lifting >25kg.
• Must be able to travel and work on remote projects throughout Ontario.
• Must be available to workdays, nights and weekends as needed.
• Must be able to work long shifts and extended hours, overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Field inspection and testing of asphalt, aggregates, soils and concrete.
• Field testing to include sampling, coring and compaction of various materials.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of testing activities.
• Assist in proper care, control and maintenance of testing equipment, including timely calibrations of assigned equipment.
• Follow all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
• Assist when required with Geotechnical inspections and investigations.
• Complete reports and checklists as per company policies and/or contract requirements and advise supervisors of any non-conformances and deviations.
• Assist with Laboratory testing of materials when required.
• Perform other duties as instructed.
