Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Sr. Field Tech in Alberta to perform MV cable termination, splicing and testing on power distribution equipment. You will handle live front stress cones, high voltage testing, and repairs with a strong emphasis on safety and detailed on-site reporting.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and 5+ years in related field, with willingness to travel up to 75% and relocate as needed. Join a customer-focused team delivering reliable power services across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in medium voltage cable termination, splicing, and installations.
• Knowledge of NEC, NETA, OSHA, IEEE and NFPA standards.
• Experience with 69kV+ equipment and testing procedures.
• Ability to complete on-site job reports and coordinate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect LV/MV/HV cable installations and terminations.
• Perform start-up and data collection on electrical systems.
• Test switchgear and circuit breakers up to 15 kV/500 kV class where applicable.
• Repair transformers and related equipment, including oil and dry-type.
• Respond to customer emergencies and rotate on-call duties.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory safety procedures and company policies.
• Prepare on-site reports and communicate with customers and management.
