Job summary

Smith + Andersen in Calgary, AB is seeking a Field Representative - Mechanical to lead field activities across multiple projects. This hybrid role blends in-office coordination with on-site field work, ensuring design intent is translated into constructable solutions and coordinated with project teams.

You will review documents, attend site meetings, support field staff, and drive TQM improvements while mitigating risks and ensuring timely reporting and payment certification.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in applying standard details and installation standards.
• Lead the application and continuous improvement of our Total Quality Management (TQM) processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Review construction document packages and identify constructability issues.
• Attend site meetings and verify construction progress across multiple project sites.
• Monitor and ensure contractual legal documents are issued in a timely manner when S+A is Prime Consultant.
• Review project status and collaborate with internal teams to enable site meetings with no outstanding items.
• Define close-out requirements and obtain contractor documentation to support permit close-out.
• Lead or participate in multi-disciplinary field administration best practices.
