Job Details
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications (IM, SC, and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings.
- Support and monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting.
- Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments, chart, and report all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation.
- Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics KPIs.
- Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments to meet established timelines for appointments, treatments, and communication of information.
- Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other duties as assigned.
- Participate in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
- Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
- Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product-specific programs.
- Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Adhere to all health and safety standards as per provincial legislation.
- Complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within the specified timeframes.
- Maintain professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations, regulatory bodies, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar.
- Be available on standby/on call to meet service needs, if required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Experience with IV therapy is an asset.
- Diploma or university degree in nursing or related field.
- Current registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certification.
- Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting.
- ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and experience with central venous lines/ports are considered assets.
- Knowledge of cell phone use for appointments/assignments and fax machines.
- Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical area.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Cell phone use for appointments/assignments.
- Flexibility to accommodate pre-scheduled and last-minute patient requests.
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work in both team and independent settings.
- Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
