Job Details
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer medications (IM, SC, and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings
  • Support/monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting
  • Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation
  • Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups
  • Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures
  • Provide reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators
  • Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information
  • Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other duties as assigned
  • Participate regularly in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards
  • Participate in specialized client-related training as required
  • Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product-specific programs
  • Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs
  • Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and Work Instructions
  • Follow all Health and Safety standards as per the provincial Health and Safety Act
  • Complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within the specified timeframes
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations, regulatory bodies, and company policies and procedures
  • Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar
  • May be required to be on standby/on call to meet service needs
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Experience with IV therapy is an asset
  • Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field
  • Current registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certificate
  • Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting
  • ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets
  • Knowledge of cell phone use for appointments/assignments and fax machines
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills dealing with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision as part of a team
  • Able to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Cell phone for appointments/assignments
  • Flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and last-minute patient requests
  • Effective organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work in both team and independent settings
  • Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance coverage

The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
