Western Energy is hiring a Field HSE Advisor in Calgary!

Western Energy Services Corp. is an oilfield service company providing contract drilling, well servicing, and rental services across Canada and the US.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of HSE, the Field HSE Advisor will lead proactive HSE program delivery across subsidiaries. This hands-on role involves building trust with field personnel, conducting risk assessments, inspections, and fostering a safety culture. The position can be based in Grande Prairie, Leduc, or Lloydminster.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Develop HSE performance metrics.
  • Support HSE system implementation and compliance.
  • Engage in pre-job planning and hazard mitigation.
  • Mentor and support field teams through site visits and safety coaching.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Promote near-miss reporting and safety observations.
  • Deliver safety orientations and training.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S, WHMIS, environmental laws.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years oilfield HSE experience, knowledge of drilling and well servicing preferred.
  • Post-secondary in Occupational Health & Safety or related.
  • CRSP, CHSC, or similar designation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessments, incident investigations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with digital HSE systems preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license; willingness to travel.
