Job summary

Trans Mountain Corporation seeks an Intermediate Engineer (Field) to deliver sustaining capital and Major Project support. You will provide engineering leadership and technical authority for field work on pipeline and facility assets, emphasizing planning and assurance of complex field execution.

The role involves delivering EJPs, leading risk assessments, and ensuring conformity with safety and regulatory requirements, while coordinating with Operations and other groups for execution readiness.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical).
• Ability to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia.
• Minimum 5 years Engineering experience in a related field.
• Pipeline engineering and project management experience preferred, managing multiple projects.
• Experience in an operating environment such as refinery, pipeline, mill, mine or plant is preferred.
• Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
• Project management experience up to $5M.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support Major Projects and sustaining capital work through outage planning and execution readiness.
• Lead development, review, and technical assurance of Engineered Job Plans for complex field activities.
• Ensure EJPs are fit-for-purpose and compliant with standards and safe work practices.
• Provide independent engineering oversight and challenge prior to field execution.
• Support Transfer of Care, Custody, and Control (TCCC) execution and Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
• Coordinate with Operations and other teams to ensure clear roles and execution readiness.
• Ensure modifications meet fit-for-purpose design and live system integration.
• Provide technical guidance for unplanned events and field execution challenges.
• Oversee external consultants and contractors to ensure quality and safety.
