Job summary

Trans Mountain Corporation is seeking an Intermediate Engineer (Field Engineering) in Kamloops, BC. You will lead sustaining capital and Major Project support, ensuring safe, compliant and technically sound field execution of pipeline and facility work.

The role emphasizes planning, engineering leadership, and assurance for complex field activities, including process piping and hot work. A P.Eng. eligible candidate with 5+ years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical).
• Ability to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia.
• Minimum 5 years Engineering experience in a related field.
• Pipeline engineering and project management experience preferred, managing multiple projects.
• Experience working in an operating environment such as refinery, pipeline, mill, mine or plant is preferred.
• Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
• Preference will be given to candidates with pipeline engineering experience.
• Project management experience including experience managing projects up to $5M.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse group of technical personnel.
• A track record of delivering high‑quality work, managing competing priorities, and supporting key business processes or operational functions.

Responsibilities

• Support Major Projects and sustaining capital work through outage planning and execution readiness.
• Lead the development, review, and technical assurance of Engineered Job Plans for complex field execution activities.
• Ensure Engineered Job Plans are fit‑for‑purpose and align with standards and regulations.
• Provide independent engineering oversight and challenge function.
• Support TCCC execution including hot work tie‑ins and Pre‑Startup Safety Reviews.
• Coordinate with Operations and Project teams for clear roles and readiness.
• Ensure modifications meet fit‑for‑purpose design and live system integration.
• Provide technical guidance to field operations for unplanned events and issues.
• Oversee external consultants and contractors to meet quality and safety standards.
• Support incident investigations and develop engineering‑driven corrective actions.
• Provide project engineering and management services including 3rd party firms, budgeting, scheduling, and commissioning.
