Here's how a Field Engineer for our Civil Infrastructure office contributes to our team:

• Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
• Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
• Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents in leading trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
• Participates in supervising self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
• Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns.
• Identifies issues on-site or within defined work scopes.
• Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising the quality plan and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with all partners.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as a field engineer/coordinator preferred; experience gained during internships may count.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, methods, and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
• Understands and applies construction principles to solve problems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with supervisors, subcontractors, and report recipients.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to write clear technical communication for trade contractors, designers, and inspectors.
• Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.
