Job summary

Victor Energy Ltd. is seeking a Driver Development & Compliance Coordinator to verify and maintain driver competency across light-duty and commercial units.

Embedded with field operations, this role delivers hands-on assessments, in-cab coaching, and practical training to ensure drivers are compliant before dispatch, with records kept for audits and continuous improvement. The position requires strong knowledge of NSC and hours of service, plus the ability to travel to remote project locations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver's licence with air brake endorsement and a clean abstract.
• 5+ years of professional commercial driving experience, including tractor-trailer and vocational or off-road units.
• 2+ years of experience in fleet safety, transportation compliance, or driver training and evaluation.
• Knowledge of the National Safety Code (NSC), hours of service regulations, cargo securement, and weights and dimensions requirements.
• Hands-on experience with an electronic logging device (ELD); Motive preferred.
• Commercial driver instructor certification or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
• Defensive driving instructor certification (PDIC) is an asset.
• Knowledge of Ontario MTO/CVOR, U.S. DOT/FMCSA, IRP, and IFTA requirements is an asset.
• Powerline or utility construction experience, and Health & Safety certifications (NCSO, CRSP, CHSC) are assets.

Responsibilities

• Verify, build, and maintain driver competency and regulatory compliance across light-duty and commercial units.
• Deliver hands-on driver assessments, in-cab coaching, and practical training to ensure drivers are competent before dispatch.
• Set consistent standards for driver qualification, refresher training, remedial coaching, and return-to-driving across the company and affiliates.
• Coordinate with Fleet Compliance on hours of service monitoring, driver qualification files, and abstract reviews.
• Keep accurate, auditable records of every assessment, training session, and corrective action.
