Your Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join our team in the Markham, ON office as a Field Coordinator.

Your Key Responsibilities

To perform this role successfully, the Field Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

1. Provide technical support to construction activities at the worksites, expediting design changes for timely responses to construction inquiries.
2. Understand subsurface utility investigation and utility relocation processes.
3. Meet utilities on site, as required, to assist in accurate and timely locates.
4. Review utility drawings and reports any ambiguities, interferences, or errors to the Construction Manager.
5. Review proposals for field changes and substitutions, recommending actions to the Construction Manager for approval.
6. Define and implement inspection requirements for construction work to ensure conformity to drawings and specifications.
7. Ensure QA/QC compliance with applicable codes, manufacturer’s instructions, vendor drawings, and installation procedures.
8. Maintain enthusiasm, passion, patience, and critical thinking skills.
9. Possess good logical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, especially during emergencies.
10. Prepare and distribute site monitoring reports.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Experience in subsurface investigation, utility relocation, supervision, quality control, and assurance.
• Experience in construction inspection, supervision, quality control, and assurance.
• Experience in transportation, structural, and geotechnical engineering is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, AutoCAD, MS Project.
• Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work under tight schedules.
• Understanding of contract fundamentals, OPSS, CSA, Metrolinx, MTO, and other standards.
• Valid Ontario G driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• EIT designation is an asset.
