Job summary

CIMA+ in Vancouver seeks a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our Energy and Resources Civil-Structural group. This hybrid role requires 3–4 in-office days per week.

You will perform field inspections of concrete and steel, conduct NDT and material testing, and assist in rehabilitation planning and construction monitoring.

Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit, Proceq testing equipment, and effective technical reporting is essential. Travel across British Columbia is required.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or higher
• 2+ years of relevant experience in structural inspections (concrete and steel)
• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and inspection equipment is highly desirable
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within British Columbia

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of concrete and steel structures
• Perform and assist with non-destructive and destructive testing of construction materials
• Operate and maintain inspection equipment and tools
• Record, document, and interpret field data, and prepare inspection reports with photographs
• Assist in the preparation of rehabilitation recommendations and technical reports
• Support preparation of drawings and sketches using AutoCAD/Revit based on inspection findings
• Travel to project sites across British Columbia as required
• Review progress and compliance of construction work with tender documents
