Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a CDL Driver for a field-based, travel-intensive role across Canada. The position involves operating hi-rail trucks and detector cars, performing inspections, and ensuring DOT compliance while supporting testing operations.

The role demands extensive travel (3–4 months on-site), strong communication, and the ability to meet rigorous safety standards. Overtime opportunities and travel/lodging support are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class 5 or higher with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to pass health assessment including drug screen, audiogram, and physical abilities test, and background check.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Travel extensively (3–4 months at a time) within assigned regions.
• Operate commercial rail vehicles (hi-rail trucks and detector cars) on roads and tracks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain DOT compliance.
• Assist with rail flaw detection testing, data collection, and equipment maintenance.
